I lowered my cholesterol from 201 to 148 using Bob's Red Mill whole ground flaxseed. However, it takes months for results so be patient! Take it diligently for at least 3 months before rechecking your cholesterol. An easy way to take ground flax seed is to stir 2 tablespoons into half a cup of pineapple juice and gulp it down quickly! The golden ground flax seed has a more pleasant taste than the brown type. The lady at our local health food store said it's the rough texture of the whole ground that make it work. Either get a good whole ground flaxseed or grind whole flaxseeds yourself in a coffee bean grinder. She also said it should be kept in the refrigerator for freshness due to the natural oils. I keep the bag in the refrigerator and keep a small plastic container on the countertop. I tried some other brands that were more powder-like and they did not keep my cholesterol level low like Bob's did. You can order Bob's Red mill whole ground flaxseed on www.amazon.com. In addition to flaxseed, try to get some good cardio exercise daily. Jumping jacks are a good, quick workout in the morning. Brisk walking later in the day to unwind. This will speed up the process of lowering your cholesterol as well as eating a healthy diet. "Flaxseed is also used for many conditions of the GI tract; Constipation, diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, gastritis, and enteritis." from website; www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/991.html "Flaxseed is a source of healthy fat, antioxidants, and fiber; modern research has found evidence to suggest that flaxseed can also help lower the risk of diabetes, cancer, and heart disease." from website; www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/263405.php. I believe God provides us with plants like flaxseed to help us stay healthy. Information on this website is based on my beliefs but is not intended to be medical advice.
