Naural Cure for Lice is Olive Oil

Natural Cure for Lice is simply Olive Oil. Apply enough oil to saturate the child's dry hair at bed time. Place a towel under your child's head. Wash the hair in the morning with shampoo or liquid dish soap which helps cuts the grease. You can use a vinegar rinse (1 part vinegar and 1 part water) to help clean the hair. Use a blow drier to dry the hair. Repeat steps nightly until the bugs are gone. It's best to keep using this remedy for at least a week or two to make sure the lice are gone. This is due to the life cycles and different hatching stages of the lice/eggs. Olive oil kills the lice. I found out about this remedy from a local health food store when my children had lice. Know that this definitely works. The oil is the key to its success. With lice around, you need to do a good spring cleaning! Remove all rugs from the house until the lice are eliminated. Mop all floors with ½ cup of vinegar or ½ cup bleach in a bucket of water. If carpeted, vacuum floors well. Continue to wash and dry all bed linens, etc. Vacuum or clean off furniture. Items such as brushes, combs, stuffed animals, toys, throw pillows, etc can be bagged in new trash bags and stored for 2 weeks (lice can’t live without people around). Monitor everyone in the house for lice or lice eggs (nits) in their hair. (see photos).
